Chi\u0219in\u0103u. A absolvit Facultatea de Fizic\u0103 \u0219i Matematic\u0103 a Universit\u0103\u021bii de Stat din Moldova (Chi\u0219in\u0103u, 1956). A sus\u021binut teza de doctor \u00een \u0219tiin\u021be fizico-matematice la Institutul Fizico-Tehnic \u201dA.F.Ioffe\u201d din Sanct-Petersburg (1963).<\/p>\n<p>Academicianul Andrie\u0219 a avut onoarea de a lucra \u00een domeniul semiconductorilor necristalini \u00een colaborare cu distinsul savant sovietic, profesorul B.T.Kolomiets; cu inventatorul american \u0219i savantul S.R.Ovshinsky, membru al Societ\u0103\u021bii Americane de Fizic\u0103 \u0219i al Asocia\u021biei Americane pentru Progresul Stiin\u021bei; cu profesorul Radu Grigorovici, membru al Academiei Rom\u00e2ne, \u0219i, nu \u00een ultimul r\u00e2nd, cu fizicianul englez Sir N.F.Mott, laureat al Premiul Nobel \u00een fizic\u0103 (1977). Academicianul Andrei Andrie\u0219 a fost fondatorul \u0219colii \u0219tiin\u021bifice a fizicii semiconductorilor necristalini \u00een Republica Moldova. Datorit\u0103 unei structuri dezordonate a re\u021belei atomice semiconductorii necristalini sunt un grup de materiale cu propriet\u0103\u021bi distincte dec\u00e2t cele ale semiconductorilor cristalini. Acestui grup apar\u021bin \u0219i sticlele calcogenice, materiale transparente \u00een regiunea IR a spectrului optic \u0219i foarte promi\u021b\u0103toare pentru diferite aplica\u021bii \u00een fotonic\u0103, optoelectronic\u0103, holografie \u0219i optica integrat\u0103. Academicianul Andrie\u0219 a ini\u021biat \u00een Republica Moldova investiga\u021bii sistematice ale propriet\u0103\u021bilor electrice, fotoelectrice \u0219i optice ale obiectelor masive, filmelor subtiri amorfe \u0219i a fibrelor optice din sticle calcogenice. Realiz\u0103rile academicianului Andrie\u0219 au fost recunoscute oficial \u00een Republica Moldova de dou\u0103 ori, \u00een 1982 \u0219i 2002, c\u00e2nd a fost decernat cu Premiul de Stat al Republicii Moldova \u00een domeniul \u0219tiin\u021bei, tehnologiei \u0219i produc\u021biei. Al doilea Premiu de Stat el l-a ob\u021binut \u00eempreun\u0103 cu un grup de discipoli pentru realiz\u0103ri de noi materiale \u0219i tehnologii avansate \u00een optoelectronic\u0103 pe baz\u0103 de semiconductori necristalini. Datorit\u0103 rezultatelor \u0219tiin\u021bifice semnificative a devenit c\u00e2\u0219tig\u0103torul (anul 2005) a premiului \u201cStanford R.Ovshinsky Prize for Excellence in Amorphous Chalcogenides\u201d pentru contribu\u021biile sale \u00een optoelectronic\u0103, \u00eenregistrarea optic\u0103 a informa\u021biei, optica neliniar\u0103 \u0219i studiul fibrelor optice din sticle calcogenice.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen ultimii ani de activitate, academicianul Andrei Andrie\u0219 a ini\u021biat dezvoltarea \u0219i cercetarea de noi materiale compozite nanostructurate organice\/anorganice. Aceste materiale sunt foarte atractive pentru noi dispozitive fotonice \u0219i optoelectronice. Academicianul Andrie\u0219 este autor\/coautor a 6 monografii, circa 500 de lucr\u0103ri \u0219tiin\u021bifice \u0219i 30 de brevete de inven\u021bie.<\/p>\n<p>Sub \u00eendrumarea profesorului Andrei Andrie\u0219 au sus\u021binut teze de doctor habilitat S. \u0218utov, M.S. Iovu, D. \u00c5\u00a2iuleanu, V. Ciuma\u0219, N.Enachi, A. Buzdugan, A. Popescu \u0219i de doctor \u00een \u0219tiin\u021be fizico-matematice E. Colomeico, V. Verlan, M.A. Iovu, M. Cernii, V. Aba\u0219chin, A.A. Sima\u0219chevici, V. Bivol, I. Culeac, E. Achimova, I. Cojocaru, S. Malkov, V. Dolghieru, E. Hancevskaya, N. Gumeniuc, D. Harea.<\/p>\n<p>Academicianul Andrei Andria\u0219 a fost membru al Academiei Inginere\u0219ti din Federa\u021bia Rus\u0103; membru corespondent al Societ\u0103\u021bii Austriece \u201eAlbert Schweitzer-Gesellschaft Modling\u201d; Membru al Academiei Europene de Art\u0103; Membru de Onoare al Academiei Rom\u00e2ne; Pre\u0219edinte al Sociat\u0103\u021bii SPIE-Moldova; Membru de Onoare al Academiei Rom\u00e2no-Americane; Doctor Honoris Causa al Universit\u0103\u021bii Politehnice din Bucure\u0219ti.
